Whether you are hoping for a romantic event just for the two of you, or you want a gathering of all your family and friends, a renewal of vows is a beautiful way to celebrate your marriage or civil partnership.
Working closely with our award-winning team, you will design your perfect ceremony, personal to you, and once again say those loving words to one another.
A special way to make new the promises you made to each other, a renewal of vows ceremony is for couples who are already married or in a civil partnership. Our couples renew their vows for a number of unique or personal reasons. Most popular is to hold a ceremony on an important anniversary or following a marriage or civil partnership abroad.
Your ceremony can be as grand or as simple as you wish. Some couples invite the wedding party from their original day to celebrate together again; others invite new friends they have met together since.
If you want, ask a best man or bridesmaids to be involved, giving readings and speeches during the ceremony. You can also choose to wear a wedding dress, something similar to your outfits from your wedding or civil partnership day, or go for something entirely different. The choice is up to you.
A renewal of vows is a celebratory occasion and has no legal status. The ceremony does not alter, add or detract from any rights or responsibilities that you already have as a couple.
We have two packages available to choose from. For an exclusive ceremony created just for the both of you, choose our bespoke package. If you want to renew your vows quickly or prefer a simple event, choose our standard package.
Both packages include the signing of a commemorative certificate by you and witnesses (if you choose to have them). This will be presented to you at the end of the ceremony as a memento of your day. A personalised script of the ceremony is also available for an additional fee.
During the ceremony you will have the opportunity to exchange rings. These can be new, or you may like to rededicate the rings that you exchanged on your wedding or civil partnership day.
You will work closely with a dedicated celebrant to write a specially created script for the ceremony. During meetings, you will discuss your options for the ceremony, such as exchanging rings or gifts, reading and arrangements for music.
You can choose to involve family, friends or your children. They could deliver readings, poems or non-religious words that hold special meaning to you both. Some couples choose to have a short speech referencing their original ceremony, this can be delivered by the best man or anyone you choose.
To allow for the personalisation and work required, the bespoke package takes at least eight weeks to prepare. The ceremony will vary in length depending on your options and number of readings.
Our standard ceremony can be arranged at short notice, pending availability of registrars and venues. You will be able to choose from a set of options what to include in your script. The standard ceremony normally lasts up to 20 minutes.
We have a fantastic selection of hotels, stately homes, town halls and more for you to renew your vows in. Find your picture perfect East Yorkshire scene on our venues page.
